Our team at occupational health services
We are a friendly team of occupational health practitioners with years of expertise across a wide range of industries. We always look to build strong relationships with our clients while keeping the needs of you and your business in mind, with thorough assessments, evidence-based reporting and quick turnaround times.
The right fit for your business
We understand that all businesses are different and that one size doesn’t fit all, and we enjoy providing occupational health services for small businesses. We take the time to understand your unique needs and offer ad-hoc services to meet your specific business and budgetary needs.
We are also lucky enough to have the support and expertise of a professional network of associates which include occupational health specialists such as occupational health physicians (Accredited Specialists in Occupational Medicine, FFOM, MFOM, AFOM), occupational health advisors, health and safety advisors and occupational hygienists.
Together, we can offer rigorous assessments and practical advice and will do what needs to be done to meet the occupational health needs of your business.
We are big enough to cope, but small enough to care
If we can help you manage your employees’ health issues more effectively or you’d like to discuss a particular issue or simply find out more, then please get in touch for an informal chat. We’re here to help.
Debbie Holder
Owner and Founder of Occupational Health Services
BSc, RGN, BA, SCPHN (OH)
Hello, I am Debbie Holder, the proud owner of Occupational Health Services. I qualified as a general nurse in 1991, and obtained a further degree to qualify as a specialist occupational health nurse practitioner in 1999. Following on from positions at The Railways, Bupa Occupational Health and GlaxoSmithKline, I started Occupational Health Services in 2009 using my broad span of experience, knowledge and expertise, to provide high quality services to a wide range of industry sectors.
Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, I provide services to many small businesses, as well as corporate clients in Herts, Beds, Bucks and the London area, in industries including manufacturing, IT, pharmaceuticals, warehousing, logistics, construction, engineering, schools, finance and charitable organisations. I particularly enjoy working with SMEs and feel I understand the complex needs and demands of a small business and the significant impact that ill-health and absence can make on them.
High quality service, good communication and a warm and approachable style is important to me and values I impart to my team. I pride myself on being able to put people at ease, which is particularly beneficial for complex cases, especially mental health cases, of which I have vast experience. The real success of my approach is to rapidly develop rapport, to enable genuine communication to make an effective assessment and provide clear and practical advice to managers on how to support their employees’ health at work.
